Ellerker Playing Fields Committee – AGM

This year’s Ellerker Playing Fields AGM will be held on Wednesday 28th April 2021 at 7pm. The PFC requires a minimum of 5 trustees, plus of course a number of volunteers, to ensure the upkeep of both playing fields so that these can be enjoyed by all those in our community. Two trustees have advised that they will be stepping down at the AGM which leaves the positions of Treasurer and Committee Member available. The PFC requires a Chair, Treasurer, Secretary and 2 other trustees as a minimum. All current PFC trustees are also open to stepping down so good time to consider joining the committee if you are interested.

Due to the current climate, we are unsure of the meeting details. Therefore in the same way as last year, we request that those wanting to attend please email . Please also confirm your intention to join as a trustee and in what capacity as this will help us in our planning. We will then email everyone before the meeting advising of the meeting details.

Thank you

Ridings Medical Group – COVID19 vaccination patient update 31st January 2021

Thank you to all of our patients for your continued support whilst we deliver the Covid19 vaccinations to our patient population. We continue to receive a high volume of calls to
query when patients may receive a vaccine which is affecting patients being able to contact
the practice for non-Covid19 queries.

Please do not contact us to book a vaccine or query when you will be offered one.

Many patients will have received a letter from NHS England offering them the chance to
book an appointment online to attend the mass vaccination centre at Askham Bar Park &
Ride. Patients can choose to be vaccinated there but will be required to return there for
their 2nd vaccination. Alternatively, patients can be vaccinated at Brough Surgery but this
cannot be booked online.

We are contacting patients in order of the JCVI priority below and in age descending order
within each priority group. We have no influence over this list and cannot advise exact
timescales due to vaccine availability which we have no control over.

1. residents in a care home for older adults and their carers – 1st vaccine completed*
2. all those 80 years of age and over and frontline health and social care workers – 1st
vaccine completed*
3. all those 75 years of age and over – 1st vaccine in progress
4. all those 70 years of age and over and clinically extremely vulnerable individuals – 1st
vaccine in progress
5. all those 65 years of age and over – expected to start late February 2021
6. all individuals aged 16 years to 64 years with underlying health conditions which put
them at higher risk of serious disease and mortality (including registered carers)
7. all those 60 years of age and over
8. all those 55 years of age and over
9. all those 50 years of age and over
*some patients in each group may not have had their vaccination due to personal medical circumstances. These are being followed up so they can receive the vaccine as soon as they are medically well enough. Our staff are working extremely hard to care for you during these unprecedented times so please be patient. Thank you for your continued support.

Census 21st March 2021

What is the census?
The census is a survey that happens every 10 years and gives us a picture of all the people and households in England and Wales. All kinds of organisations, from local authorities to charities, use the information to help provide the services we all need, including transport, education and healthcare. Without the census, it would be much more difficult to do this.

When should I fill in my census questionnaire?
Census Day is Sunday 21 March – but you can fill yours in as soon as you get your access code
in the post. Your answers should be about the people who usually live in your household on this date – even if you’re filling it in before then. If your household circumstances change on
Census Day, you can let us know.

The Ridings Medical Group – COVID19 vaccination patient update 31st December 2020

The Ridings Medical Group are pleased to announce that they are working with NHS England to deliver Covid vaccinations to The Ridings Medical Group and Hessle Grange Medical Practice patients as part of a River & Wolds Primary Care Network joint service. The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) have ordered the priority based on those who are at the greatest risk:

1. residents in a care home for older adults and their carers
2. all those 80 years of age and over and frontline health and social care workers
3. all those 75 years of age and over
4. all those 70 years of age and over and clinically extremely vulnerable individuals
5. all those 65 years of age and over
6. all individuals aged 16 years to 64 years with underlying health conditions which put them at higher risk of serious disease and mortality (including registered carers)
7. all those 60 years of age and over
8. all those 55 years of age and over
9. all those 50 years of age and over

Patients will be contacted by the practice to book a vaccine in the order of eligibility. When it is the right time for you to receive the vaccine, you will receive an invitation to come forward. Please do not contact the practice to get an appointment until you are contacted. They are having to respond quickly to updated guidance from NHS England and JCVI and all staff are working extremely hard to roll out the vaccine service whilst maintaining normal services. They thank you for your continued support and patience.
